01 Overview
Techlume Limited is an IT company. The work is software: the applications people use, the data systems that report on those applications, the connections to external providers, and the infrastructure all of it runs on.
The same engineers design, implement and operate each system rather than handing it off between teams. We usually maintain what we build, so the list below includes the work that comes after release, not just before it.
We scope every engagement in writing before it starts.
02 Capabilities
We staff every area in-house rather than subcontracting. Most engagements draw on more than one.
Web application development, plus internal tools and admin interfaces. This also takes in the runtime environment those applications need: server provisioning, deployment pipelines, backups, logging, monitoring, and the patching and upgrade work that continues after release.
We collect operational data from source systems into one store and build the reporting on top of it. That means extraction and ingestion, transformation rules, denormalised table design, materialised views, scheduled reports and dashboards for day-to-day use.
Connections between internal systems and external providers in both directions. That means API clients and endpoints, webhook handling and signature verification, mapping between data formats, idempotency keys, retry and reconciliation logic, and reworking those connections when a provider changes or retires an interface.
Assessment and design work delivered as documents rather than as code: architecture proposals for new systems, written reviews of existing ones, evaluation of vendors and their proposals, effort estimates for planned work, and delivery management when you need a single point of accountability.
03 Engagement
We agree which of these applies before work begins. It sets how the work is specified and billed.
Defined scope with a written specification and a delivery date. We use this when the requirements are known at the outset. Changes to scope are quoted before they are made.
We assign engineers to your product on an ongoing basis, billed monthly rather than by deliverable.
We assess, design and review, but do not implement. Billed by the day.
Ongoing operation of a system we built or took over. A monthly retainer covering monitoring, patching and an agreed response time for faults.
04 Technologies
We pick tools for maintainability, and for how easy it is to hire engineers who already know them.
